Upon registration via Apple or Google, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo. This information is used to personalize your experience within the app. You have the ability to update your name and photo at any time.
To deliver our core service — monitoring prices on specific URLs that you choose — we store the URLs you submit, along with any associated settings such as notification and language preferences. We also collect device-specific information, including device brand, model, operating system, system language, and a notification token required to deliver push notifications. These technical details are used for analytics, troubleshooting, and ensuring the app functions reliably across a range of devices.
If you subscribe to the Early Bird plan, we collect data related to your subscription status, such as the tier you have selected (e.g., Flexible or Smart Saver), the start and end dates of your subscription, and its active status. This allows us to unlock the appropriate features for your account.
2. How We Use Your Information
The data we collect is used solely to deliver and enhance the Whisprice experience. Your name and profile photo improve the in-app interface and interactions. Notification tokens and your chosen preferences allow us to quietly alert you to relevant price changes — the very function Whisprice is designed to perform. Device and system information help us understand performance issues and optimize compatibility across devices and platforms.
Your email address is securely stored and may be used in the future to send optional digest emails that summarize price activity across your tracked items. We do not send marketing emails, promotional material, or share your personal contact details with advertisers.
3. Third-Party Services
To operate our service efficiently, we rely on trusted third-party providers. These include Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting and secure data storage, Firebase for delivering notifications and error tracking, Google Analytics for aggregated usage analytics, and Elastic for internal performance and search indexing.
We do not collect, store, or process your credit card or financial information. All payment transactions for the Early Bird subscription are handled directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, subject to their respective privacy policies. We only receive a confirmation of your payment status (success/failure) to enable your subscription features.
Whisprice does not sell or share your personal data with third parties. However, we may share anonymized or aggregated data related to product URLs and historical pricing for research, benchmarking, or product insights — always stripped of any identifiable user information.
4. User Control and Rights
You remain in control of your data while using Whisprice. At any time, you may delete your entire account or remove specific price tracking history directly within the app. You may also manage your notification preferences — enabling or disabling email or push alerts as desired.
For paid subscriptions, you retain the right to manage your billing data and cancel renewals directly through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings at any time.
We comply with applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Upon request, we will provide access to the data we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, and delete your data when requested, subject to applicable legal obligations.
